DPC 2021-22

TL;DR week 1 of DPC 2021-22 Season Tour 1

The first week of the DPC 2021-22 Season Tour 1 has come to an end for most regions. If you missed the action we've got the TL;DR to catch up.

All of the regions, except China have already begun their journey of 10,000 steps to The International 11. With the action happening around the clock and around the globe, it was easy to miss a match, or two, or three.

No worries, though we've got you covered.

TL;DR

Western Europe

Tundra Esports overpowered the newly revamped Alliance by picking the same exact draft twice. Of course, this prompted the fans to once again start chanting that Tundra was done wrong and should have been to TI10 instead of Alliance. It didn't help that Alliance then had to face Team Secret next and once again fell to a 2:0 sweep, leaving them 0:4 to start things off.

The young OG squad went full HAM on Team Secret. The first draft coming out from Secret looked like they were just going for fun and were punished by the new OG lineup. The second draft was more competitive, but OG still remained in control.

Team Nigma had announced that Roman "rmN-" Paley would be standing in for Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi who would be on break for the first few series. As seems to be on par for the team when they have stand-ins, they lost 2:0 to Team Tickles. Yes, Team Tickles.

Eastern Europe

TI10 champions, Team Spirit began their season with a 2:0 sweep over Team Unique

More surprising was to see PuckChamp at the top with an undefeated streak so far. They have a 4:0 game/2:0 series record to start things out after taking down both Natus Vincere and Gambit.

Southeast Asia

Both Fnatic and TNC Predator had a really rough start for the new season. After revamping their rosters, Fnatic is 0:2 and TNC 0:4 -- rounding out last place in Division 1.

Motivate.Trust Gaming is the team on top right now with the return of Natthaphon "Masaros" Ouanphakdee. They are undefeated with a 4:0 game/2:0 series record.

North America

Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka returned to the competitive scene with Evil Geniuses who took down the NA antagonist (or was it protagonist) Arkosh Gaming 2:0.

But it is the revamped Quincy Crew who are at the head of the class right now with a 2:0/4:1 record.

China

Due to several Chinese players still being stranded in Europe after TI10, Division I for China regional league will start only next year, on the 3rd of January. In the meantime, Division II matches run as planned, beginning on November 29.

Winter Tour 2021

  • Regional Leagues total DPC points: 690
  • Major total DPC points: 1,900

Division I

Those who start the new DPC year from Division I will be fighting for a spot at the first Major of the new competitive year, and a share of the 690 DPC points and $205,000. Only the top five teams from Division I will earn DPC points. The sixth-placed team will get to keep its spot in the league, while those finishing in the 7th/8th place will be relegated into Division II for the next Tour.

Division II

Division II has a total prize pool of $75,000 and no DPC points to offer, but those placing top two at the end of the Winter Tour will promote into Division I for the next Tour. The prize pool will be split between the top 6 teams, while the bottom two will be eliminated from the regional league and will have to go through open qualifiers for the next Tour.
