Joe Cada is most well known for winning the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event, besting 6,494 other players to win over $8.5 million. Cada surpassed Peter Eastgate as the youngest Main Event champion ever. It was the first year that the November 9 played in the large stadium theater with a wild atmosphere of fans cheering. Cada defeated Darvin Mood heads-up. Cada had been playing online for five years previously, amassing hundreds of thousands playing cash games online before his remarkable Main Event win. Joe Cada was born November 18, 1987 in Shelby Charter Township, Michigan where he still resides when not traveling for poker.
