Fredrik 'FisheYe' Keitel Profile

Fredrik 'FisheYe' Keitel is one of the finest former StarCraft players to ever come out of Germany. He narrowly missed winning the 2003 World Cyber Games losing to Korean gamer Ogogo, but defeating Guillaume 'Grrrrr' Patry and Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier in the process of collecting his silver medal and $10,000. Keitel is the only player who managed to qualify for all previous World Cyber Games by ending the German advance as a first or second divorce. Only fellow German Zerg player Mondragon challenged him, and beat him in a disputed match. WCG 2006 was the first year Keitel didn't qualify due to his new interest and passion for poker.

Keitel has focused over the years on online cash games, not tournaments. His breakout year in poker was 2009 when he put in big volume and won over $800,000. He continued to play the large NLHE games on Stars and Full Tilt winning another $1.2 million over parts of 2010 and 2011. He plays as high as $300/$600 but more regularly plays $50/$100 or $100/$200 with impressive results over 100,000 hands of winning around 10 BB/100. Keitel was born in Germany October 17, 1984 and currently spends time in both Germany and Austria.

Things you might not know:

  • Keitel sometimes surprised his opponents by playing random or Zerg/Terra mixes.
  • Keitel played on Full Tilt as Observer84, FiSHeYe1984 on Stars and FiSheYe on forums
  • Keitel lone live tournament cash was in the May 2008 PartyPoker Million Cruise for 11th and $17,250.

  • Keitel enjoys watching and supporting MMA, especially fighters Wanderlei Silva, BJ Penn and Jon 'Bones' Jones.

Fredrik 'FisheYe' Keitel has had considerable success in high stakes poker, with appearances on several poker TV shows. When StarCraft2 beta came out, he returned to play some of the new game, but still considers poker his main focus at one of the top high stakes players around.

As most of Keitel's poker videos are in German, I've added a couple StarCraft videos, a four part SC2 beta 2v2 long battle and a video showing Keitel taking on Viktor “Isildur1” Blom:
