GGA Cup qualifiers #8 / #9
The Global Gaming Alliance SC2 Global Tournament is a 32 player competition with $5000 and products up for grabs. 16 invited players and 16 that qualify via the global weekly qualifiers will duke it out at the grand finals expected in December. During the month of August the first two of the South East qualifiers, number eight and nine, will be played out on the 1st and 23rd.
August 2-4
ASUS ROG Summer 2012
The fourth ASUS ROG SC2 tournament will be help on the 2-4 of August. With $30,000 on the line and 32 players, Finland will be host to a serious tournament.
August 3-4
WCS Mexico Nationals
The WCS in Mexico will happen on the 3-4 of August featuring 32 players where the top six will qualify for the North American Championship receiving $15,000 in prize money and paid trips.
August 4-19
TeamLiquid StarLeague 4 (Ro32 to Ro8)
The TSL actually started on the 28th of July with the finals scheduled for September 8th. A large part of the tournament will be played out during the months of August, starting with parts of the RO32 on the 4th all the way to the quarter finals on the 18-19 of August. TSL 4 features three returning seeds from the last tournament and 29 qualified players competing for a $34,500 prize pool.
August 6-25
WCS Korean Nationals
The WCS in Asia is heating up with the South Korea Nationals happening 6-25 of August. The games will feature 32 players with seeds to the Asian Championship and $25,980 in prize money up for grabs.
August 7th
OSL Season 1 KeSPA Dual Tournament
The 2012 OnGameNet Starleague first season is already underway with lots of information still to be announced. Some of the major parts such as the Non-KeSPA Dual Tournament has already been played out and the next date for the action is the 7th of August for more of the KeSPA Dual Tournament.
August 10-12
WCS Australia Nationals
Australia is the next stop for the WCS with 16 players competing in the nationals. $10,000 and seeds for the four top players are the coveted prize. The events will happen in Sydney, Australia on the 10-12 of August.
August 11th
IPL Team Arena Challenge 3 Finals
The third iteration of IGN's IPL Team Arena Challenge is set to end on the 11th of August at Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco, California with $20,000 in prize money on the line. Both teams who make it will be flown out to conclude the tournament at a live show followed by a best of nine show-match from the ace players of each team.
The losers bracket final between SlayerS and Liquid will be played out on the 31 of July where the winner gets the ticket to face IM in the finals.
August 15-19
IEM Season VII Global Challenge
Gamescom will again be host to ESL's flagship tournament - Intel Extreme Masters with it's seventh iteration. Most Qualifiers have already been played out as the current lineup holds players from all over the glob. Joining them will be whomever raises to the top of the Open brackets to be held at the event itself. Tune in to see who among the 24 players (eight via open brackets) claims what prizes out of the $31,800 pool on the 15-19 of August, in Cologne, Germany.
August 24-26
MLG Summer Championship
After a long run composed of Open Online Qualifiers, Invite Only Online Qualifiers and the Summer Arena, the last event of the MLG Summer Season is upon us. The third championship event for the MLG 2012 Pro Circuit will happen on the 24-26 of August in Raleigh, North Carolina. $76,000 are up for grabs for the 16 players who qualified the eight that were invited and 208 open bracket signups.

WCS North American Championship
The NA championship is the culmination of many qualifier and national rounds and another part of the plethora of events leading up to the grand finals of the WCS that will determine the true global champion of Starcraft 2. The event will feature 32 players with $30,000 prize for the taking.

GSL Season 4
After a PvP final in Season three, the best South Korean league will return in August with its fourth season with the traditionally gigantic $154,000 prize pool divided between Code A and Code S players.
