Soulframe Open Preludes kick off in November 2026.
Warframe creator Digital Extremes is officially opening up early alpha playtesting for its next game, Soulframe. PC players worldwide can access the game on 6 November in what the developer calls “Soulframe Open Preludes.” This version of the game adds an Omen Wolf mount system, a new world progression system, and fishing features.

How to join Soulframe alpha playtest
In a monthly developer livestream, Digital Extremes shared more details for the next Soulframe Preludes updates coming in November, entitled Verse of the Veilands. This update will add a bunch of new content to the game, and mark the beginning of Soulframe Open Preludes, the latter of which is an early alpha playtest for PC players worldwide.
Creative director Geoff Crookes said on the announcement:
"Soulframe has been a community-driven game from day one, shaped by the tight-knit group of players that joined us for Preludes, and now, we're ready to grow that community even further. It feels a little scary to finally open the gates like this, but the introduction of mounts and world progression systems we revealed today is the right time so we can gather essential feedback on these features and everything we've worked on so far. The more players we have right now, the more helpful it is for our team to inform the direction Soulframe takes. Thank you to everyone who has helped get us this far."
Soulframe Open Preludes is a free-to-play alpha version of the game that will be available for download on the game’s official website, and playable on Windows PC. First-time players can explore a large open world, master combat styles, and forge Pacts with animal-like Omen Beasts. This version of the game will also include story quests called Fables, as well as co-op multiplayer, crafting, and more.
Additionally, the Verse of the Veilands update will add a new environmental world progression system called Veilands, the ability to grow wolf pups into Omen Wolf mounts, a new character Pact, and the return of Bita’s Eve.
Soulframe Open Preludes will launch on 6 November, 2026.
