Petit Planet is launching this December.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners can breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that they will soon have their hands on yet another cosy game: Petit Planet. This week, Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse officially held a “Pre-Launch Special Program” to show off more gameplay and features from its next big release, the cosy life simulation game Petit Planet.
The livestream dove into the game’s Neighbours, core gameplay systems, and the reveal of its impending Nintendo Switch 2 port–along with a host of launch events.

When is Petit Planet launching on Nintendo Switch 2?
During this week’s pre-release livestream, HoYoverse officially announced that Petit Planet is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027. The game will first launch on 4 December with full cross-play across PC, iOS, and Android. The news follows HoYoverse’s long-awaited Nintendo Switch port for Genshin Impact, which was originally announced all the way back in 2020, but still shows no signs of life.
Petit Planet launch events revealed
HoYoverse is kicking off Petit Planet with a bevy of events and rewards for all players–or as the game prefers to call them, Planet Tenders. The game’s official website has a lucky draw offering prizes, while over 1,000 clothing and furniture items have been confirmed free for all players to attain through gameplay. Additionally, a “Besties, Made to Match!” event will allow players to team up with friends and pre-register to receive exclusive clothing items.
Starting today, a “Launch a Planet” event will also allow players to design their own planets on Petit Planet’s website to win prizes, while a Petit Planet Seasonal Creation Event is planned to kick off alongside the game’s release with cash prizes, in-game rewards, and merchandise to be won.
Anyone who visits Petit Planet’s Twitter/X account can also pick up a “Moving Guide” and get a chance to win gift cards, a suitcase, and a luggage tag.
What is Petit Planet?
Petit Planet tasks players with planting a Luca Seed on their very own planet, and nurturing it to shape the planet’s landscapes, seasons, and ecosystems over time. With help from friendly faces like Mobai and Elsasani, Planet Tenders can welcome Neighbors, explore the Staresea, or play with friends in the Galactic Bazaar’s plentiful minigames.
