Vici Gaming officially return with a star-studded roster

After more than three years on hiatus, iconic Chinese organisation Vici Gaming has officially announced a new roster, featuring returning members Hongcheng “Xm” Guo, Jiahan “Pyw” Xiong, and Cong “Dy” Ding, alongside rising talents Zhen “lou” Lou and Chung “Ws`” Wei Shen.

Vici briefly resurfaced ahead of this year's The International qualifiers, making a bold, last-minute attempt to secure a spot. Although they ultimately fell short of qualifying, the organisation has now confirmed its full commitment to the upcoming 2025/2026 season. The once-dominant Chinese powerhouse will debut its new lineup at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, kicking off on October 23.

Wildcard disbands Dota 2 roster

North America just can’t catch a break. The struggling region has lost its top-performing team as Wildcard disbands its Dota 2 roster, offering no clarification on whether it plans to rebuild with a new lineup or exit the Dota 2 scene entirely.

Earlier this year, Wildcard acquired the self-made Apex Genesis stack, made up primarily of American players. In a surprise run that defied expectations, Wildcard defeated the then-top NA team, Shopify Rebellion, to qualify for The International, where they went on to deliver a respectable performance.

Despite their success, Wildcard has now decided to part ways with the roster. The players, however, have expressed their intention to stick together for future tournaments, returning to the Apex Genesis name as they seek new sponsorship opportunities.

Fy return to compete in Dota 2, joining Xtreme Gaming alongside NothingToSay

In bittersweet news, Xtreme Gaming has parted ways with two of its players, Hongcheng “Xm” Guo and Zixing “XinQ” Zhao. Despite an impressive run at The International 2025—finishing 2nd and dropping only a single series throughout the championship—Xtreme has opted for a roster reshuffle.

As the two players depart, a legendary veteran returns to the spotlight: Xu “fy” Linsen makes his comeback to competitive Dota 2 after a year of absence, filling the position 4 role in Xtreme. Joining him is Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang, who previously played for Team Tidebound, rounding out what is an incredibly star-studded lineup.

Tundra Esports sign Ari as new position 4 player

Tundra Esports has signed British player Ari to fill the vacancy left by key player Saksa, who went inactive following the conclusion of The International 2025. Matthew “Ari” Walker is best known for his time with TSM and OG. While he has yet to secure major tournament achievements, he remains one of the most promising rising talents in the scene.

BetBoom Team part ways with Pure and coach boolk

Despite delivering their strongest season to date—winning multiple Tier 1 events and securing a fourth-place finish at The International 2025—BetBoom Team has opted for roster changes. The team parted ways with carry player Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko and coach Anatoly “boolk” Ivanov.

The organisation didn’t waste any time in unveiling its new lineup for the upcoming season. Just one day after the announcement, BetBoom introduced Ilja “Kiritych” Uljanow, a rising star in the CIS scene, as their new carry. They also brought in veteran coach Roman “rmN-” Paley formerly of Nigma Galaxy, to fill the coaching role.

OG sign Lelis and set Stojkov on trial

OG has finalized its Dota 2 roster for the upcoming season, officially adding Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos as the position 5 on the active lineup and trialing Stojkov in the midlane role. While the announcement is recent, the lineup has already played together at CIS Battle 2, where Lelis and Stojkov contributed to OG’s second tournament victory of the year. A new assistant coach, Hovitey, will also be joining Johan “N0tail” Sundstein to support the team’s 2026 campaign. OG is already set to compete in the Western Europe closed qualifier for DreamLeague Season 27.

SabeRLighT leaves Team Liquid for AVULUS

TI 2024 champions Team Liquid have benched offlaner Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek, who will start the next season with AVULUS. SabeRLighT's departure from Liquid comes after an abysmal 9th-13th place finish for the team in TI 2025, by far the worst placement of any Liquid squad in TI.

In a post on his personal X account, SabeRLighT said that he was loaned by Liquid to AVULUS to play in the upcoming set of qualifiers before he decides on “a permanent home for the rest of the [next] season.”

Talon Esports part ways with Jhocam

Talon Esports are now down to just two players as the team announced that they are parting ways with position 4 support Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro. Talon previously removed Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon and Carlo “KuKu” Palad from their roster back in July. Only mid laner Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman and offlaner Chung “Ws`” Wei Shen remain on Talon's roster.

Virtus.pro fields surprising new international roster

Iconic Eastern European Dota 2 organisation Virtus.pro (VP) will enter the next season with a roster mostly comprised of players outside of their home region, a first in the team's history. Only offlaner Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin and position 4 support Vladislav “Antares” Kertman remain from the previous all-Russian roster. They are now joined by Peruvian carry Enzo “Timado” Gianoli, Filipino mid laner Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop, and Israeli position 5 Tal “Fly” Aizik. The team will also be coached by decorated American coach Sam “Bulba” Sosale.

MOUZ assembles notable talent in new roster

After appointing Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp as the head of MOUZ’s new roster in April, the organisation has now finalized its lineup for the upcoming season, featuring several prominent names. The team welcomes Remco “Crystallis” Arets in the carry position; he was recently made inactive on Tundra Esports’ roster just a few days ago. Nai Zheng “MidOne” Yeik, who has experienced a stagnant slump in recent years, will take on the midlane role. Former Team Secret players Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan and Daniyal “Yamich” Lazebnyy complete the roster. This lineup will be coached by ImmortalFaith.

HEROIC part ways with 4nalog and Wisper, welcomes Davai Lama

Despite an exceptional run at The International 2025, Heroic is undergoing a major roster shakeup heading into the new season. Midlaner João “4nalog” Giannini has departed from the team and is currently exploring new opportunities in Europe. Meanwhile, Adrian “Wisper” Cespedes Dobles has also decided to step away from the roster. Rumors have it that Wisper is simply changing roles in HEROIC to fill in the midlane, but so far no official announcements indicate so. Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn, who previously played with HEROIC throughout 2024, is returning to fill the offlane role.

OG part ways with Stormstormer and Shad

Prominent organization OG has also kicked off its roster reshuffle ahead of the upcoming season. The team has parted ways with its midlaner and captain, Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau. Additionally, Indji “Shad” Lub, who joined on loan from NAVI, has been released and is now a free agent. Earlier, during TI 2025 on September 5, OG also parted ways with their position 5 player, Ivan “Kidaro” Bondarev

Tundra Esports render Crystallis and Saksa inactive

Tundra Esports is the first top team to make major roster moves in the post-TI 2025 shuffle by shifting carry player Remco “Crystallis” Arets and Martin “Saksa” Sazdov to their inactive roster. Tundra notably finished 7th-8th in TI 2025, having been unable to compete with their full roster after Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon failed to obtain a visa in time for the event in Hamburg, Germany.

Yopaj and Skem return to SEA to form Team Aureus alongside Tims

After Shopify Rebellion disbanded its North America-based roster and departed the Dota 2 scene in late July, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer and Rolen Andre Gabriel “Skem” Ong have returned to their home region of Southeast Asia to form a new stack called ‘Team Aureus.’ Joining them are Timothy “TIMS” Randrup (who seems to have already left BOOM Esports, though the organisation has yet to announce any official roster moves), John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas, and Nikko “Force” Bilocura. The squad is being coached by Adam “343” Shah.

Gaimin Gladiators' Quinn retires

Gaimin Gladiators mid laner Quinn “Quinn” Callahan has retired from competitive play, saying he no longer wishes to commit to the relentless grind of professional play. With that said, Quinn will remain in the Dota 2 esports scene as a streamer and broadcast talent, with further plans to produce professional-level guides and content.

During his decade-long professional career, Quinn mostly played in North America before moving to Western Europe in 2022 to join Gaimin Gladiators in what would become the most successful stint. As Gaimin Gladiators' mid laner, Quinn won all three Major championships in the 2023 season–which were also the last three Dota 2 Majors ever–and finished second in TI in back-to-back years in 2023 and 2024.

Kuku and Gabbi headline new Team Kukuys roster

After another unsuccessful outing for Southeast Asia in TI 2025, the region is once again undergoing major roster upheavals for the next season. Carlo “KuKu” Palad and Kim Villafuerte “Gabbi” Santos headline a new iteration of Team Kukuys, with the rest of the roster featuring Yuri Dave “Yowe” Pacaña, Joel “jwl” Pagkatotohan, and Joshua “Kokz” Marano.
