The second edition of SL i-League Invitational is just a week away and it will be the first LAN event after the Kiev Major.
The eight participating teams will begin their journey for the tournament title on the 18th of May in a group stage that will earn of lose them spots in the playoffs. Four teams will fall by the wayside after the group stage, and four will advance into the playoffs. The eight teams will be split in two groups of four and will play in a GSL, best-of-three style, for the top two spots of each group over the course of three days, from May 18th to 20th. The playoffs will be held in the last day of the event, May 21st in a single elimination format. Alliance, Invictus Gaming, VG J and, TnC have been randomly seeded in the group A, while Vega Squadron, Team Liquid, Newbee, and Faceless are going to battle each other in the group B.

The third day of the group stage will commence with the losers matches of each group followed by the deciding matches for second place. The final four squads will be seeded into the playoffs single elimination bracket according to their results in the group stage. The Group A winners will be playing the second place finishers in group B. Respectively, the winners of Group B will face off against the second place finishers of Group A.

Although we are a week away from the starting date of the event, the venue hasn’t been disclosed yet. What’s certain, however, is that the second edition of StarLadder i-League Invitational will take place in China with $100,000 prize pool on the line, spread as follows:
1st place: $45,000
2nd place: $20,000
3rd-4th place: $10,000
5th-6th place: $5,000
7th-8th place: $2,500
