In a rematch of the TI 2026 grand finals, Team Spirit once again defeated PARIVISION to advance to the grand finals of BLAST SLAM VIII.
Reigning The International (TI) champions
Team Spirit are the second team to advance to the grand finals of BLAST SLAM VIII after they defeated rivals
PARIVISION with a 2-1 reverse sweep in the tournament's lower bracket finals on Sunday (11 October).
It was the first time that Spirit and PARIVISION faced off since the grand finals of TI 2026, where Spirit defeated PARIVISION in a legendary five-game thriller to become the first team in Dota 2 history to win the world championship three times. And despite changing its roster over the offseason, Spirit still emerged victorious over their rivals to secure their first grand finals appearance of the new season.
With their victory, Spirit have secured at least a second place finish and US$135,000 in winnings. The reigning TI champions will face
Team Yandex for the third time this tournament in the grand finals, where the grand prize of US$270,000 will be up for grabs.
Meanwhile, PARIVISION bow out of BLAST SLAM VIII with a commendable third place finish and US$95,000 in consolation. While most teams would be satisfied with a podium finish in any Tier 1 event, PARIVISION–a team many consider to be the strongest team in the world–would be disappointed with anything less than the championship. The fact they were knocked out by the same team that denied them the Aegis of Champions only adds salt to the wound.
