The top seeds of the LCP and the LPL were the first two teams to get knocked out from the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage.
Team Secret Whales (TSW) and 
Anyone's Legend (AL) became the first teams to be eliminated from the 2026 League of Legends World Championship Swiss Stage after they fell to 
LOS and 
Team Liquid Alienware (TLAW), respectively, in the Round 3 Elimination Matches.
Meanwhile, 
T1 and 
Bilibili Gaming (BLG) improved their Swiss Stage records to 2-1 by defeating 
CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) and 
Karmine Corp (KC), respectively, in the Round 3 Mid Matches.
T1 and BLG take down CFO and KC to improve to 2-1 records
Day 4 of the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage kicked off in the Round 3 Mid Matches, which saw the last set of best-of-one matches of the tournament. Defending champions T1 and LPL second seed BLG defeated LCP second seed CFO and Play-In winners KC to improve their Swiss Stage standing to 2-1 and get in position to secure a spot in the Knockout Stage in Round 4.
T1 dominated CFO in 27 minutes, with 
Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon on Vi pacing his team's 14-6 kill lead with four kills and five assists on just one death. On the other hand, the match between BLG and KC was a much closer affair, though the Chinese squad came away with the win after 36 minutes of action thanks in large part to Park “Viper” Do-hyeon putting up five kills and six assists on one death as Kai'Sa,
TSW and Anyone's Legend are the first teams to fall in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage
The competition then moved to the Round 3 Elimination Matches, where LCP top seed TSW and LPL top seed AL were eliminated at the hands of the CBLOL's LOS and the LCS' TLAW.
LOS knocked out TSW with a comfortable 2-0 sweep. Game one saw 
Wallyson “Duduhh” Francisco on Kalista rack up six kills and five assists against two deaths to lead LOS to a 40-minute win to open the series. LOS then closed out the series in 37 minutes in game two behind Kim “ZEST” Dong-min, who finished with nine kills and five assists on two deaths as Kanna.
The day then closed with the most surprising result of the entire tournament so far, as TLAW ended LPL top seed AL's Worlds 2026 campaign in a dramatic 2-0 sweep. The series opened with a comfortable 33-minute win for TLAW behind Park “Morgan” Ru-han's Morgana, who put up seven kills and six assists on one death to pace his team's 16-5 kill lead.
Game two was a back-and-forth slugfest, with AL threatening a comeback before TLAW clutched up in the late game to secure the 2-0 series sweep after 47 minutes of action. 
Sean “Yeon” Sung on Xayah proved pivotal in TLAW securing the massive upset, as he closed out the series with 10 kills and four assists on just one death.
With the day's results, TSW and AL bomb out Worlds 2026 in 15th-16th place and with US$90,000 in consolation, with both teams notably failing to secure a single game win.
This disastrous result especially stings for AL, who entered the tournament as the top seed of the LPL and carried their region's hopes of reclaiming the Summoner's Cup after a five-year title drought for China. Instead, AL put up the worse performance for a LPL top seed since 2015 
LGD Gaming, who were knocked out of Worlds 2015 after only managing a 2-4 record in the Group Stage. This also marks the second year in a row that the LPL top seed failed to make it out of the Swiss Stage, with BLG losing in Round 5 of the Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage.

What's next in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage?
With the conclusion of Round 3, there will be a one-day break before competition in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage resumes in Round 4. Round 4 will see three more teams earn their spots in the Knockout Stage in the Advancement Matches, which will feature the six teams with 2-1 records. Meanwhile, the next set of Elimination Matches will feature the six teams with 1-2 records fighting to keep their tournament hopes alive.
