When is Witchbrook coming out?
Witchbrook is a magical life simulation game that lets players go to school, learn spells, make friends, and explore a city and its environs–all wrapped up in charming pixelated visuals and a colourful art style. The game was originally teased all the way back in 2016, and frequent updates on its cosy gameplay in the last decade have left many understandably impatient to jump in for a proper playthrough.
Thankfully, the wait is almost over. This week's indie-focused Nintendo Indie World Showcase confirmed that Witchbrook is officially launching on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in January 2027. A trailer also confirmed the same release date for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with up to four-player co-op multiplayer available at launch.
Here is the game's description, via the YouTube trailer:
Start your life as the newest resident witch in the bustling seaside town of Mossport. Make friends, find love, and discover a world filled with wonder and charm on the road to graduation and beyond...
Witchbrook launches on 28 January, 2027. This will be the game's second delay in recent years, following an originally-announced release window of 2025, followed by a delay to Winter 2026.
