The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studio Group have officially announced the end of service for Pokémon Unite. The free-to-play MOBA game will shut down on 23 March, 2027, following six years of service since its original release on 21 July, 2021.

Is Pokémon Unite shutting down?
The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studio Group are ending service for Pokémon Unite, both companies announced today (27 October). The game will officially shut down on both Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms on 23 March, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. The companies released a statement to fans of the game, thanking them and announcing a special farewell event:
"We offer our sincerest gratitude to the many Trainers who have played since service started for the Nintendo Switch version on July 21, 2021. We would like to express our thanks to everyone by holding a special event until service ends. The Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament (an event for Pokémon UNITE only) will also be held as previously announced. We hope you continue to enjoy Pokémon UNITE until the final day of service."
Starting today, in-game Aeos gem sales are being suspended, though players can use the remaining gems they have until the end of service. New Unite Club membership purchases and automatic membership renewals are also being suspended, though currently-existing members can continue using their benefits until their membership ends.
As for the Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament, qualifier tournaments will start on 5 December, 2026. Additionally, an incoming 12 November update will allow players to obtain items like Unite licenses and Holowear via an in-game event. A library feature will also be added, allowing players to view records and certain in-game content, as long as the library data is downloaded before end of service.
Here’s the important bit: after Pokémon Unite ends service on 23 March, 2027, players will no longer be able to log in or play matches. The game will be largely inaccessible, unless you have downloaded the library data before the end of its service.
