GosuGamers caught up with EHOME.Ohaiyo for an interview after their elimination from DAC. Ohaiyo talks about the mediocre performance of his team, the current condition of the Chinese scene and his predictions about the rest of the tournament.
Chong Xin 'Ohaiyo' Koon is one of SEA's renowned veterans, and arguably one of the most solid offlaners in the world. His team, the newly formed EHOME, entered DAC with confidence after their first place victory in D2L #5, but their mediocre performance resulted in a premature elimination from the tournament. Sheever sat down with Ohaiyo after EHOME's defeat against Cloud9, and he shared his opinions with GosuGamers in the video interview linked below.
According to Ohaiyo, his team's weak appearance was mostly caused by lack of practice as his team was not ready to face the best in the world. On the other hand, the bad performance of most Chinese teams was mostly a result of laziness, as the teams either underestimated their opponents or they lacked motivation due to the upcoming reshuffle. After DAC, he expects a comeback from the Chinese teams and a stronger showing in TI5.
As for the rest of DAC, Ohaiyo put his faith on Team Secret and ViCi Gaming (the interview was conducted before Team Secret's elimination). He really likes Secret's playstyle and team spirit, and a grand final between Secret and ViCi Gaming would surely be very interesting. His only advice to Team Secret's players is to think of each other like family, and not just teammates, otherwise every loss will damage the team's morale more than it should.
