The summer is coming close to an end with each and every passing day, but the excitement never stops, especially not now with the upcoming LanCraft on the way.
LanCraft is a six year old traditional LAN party that takes place in Rymarov, Czech Republic. At the end of August this year they will be hosting their fourteenth edition of LanCraft. The event is set to take place on the 28th till the 30th of August.
The LAN party consist of three tournaments from which two are the major RTS titles, Warcraft 3 and Starcraft, as well as the popular custom map, Defense of the Ancients. Apart from their main tournament there will also be additional tournaments for each title such as 2v2 for Dota, Warcraft 3 and Starcraft.
The organizers have unfortunately not been so lucky when it comes to sponsors and because of that their prize money will rely on the amount of participants. So the more people attend, the more money they get which leads to higher prize money. So if you have friends who might be interested, be a good pal and make sure you tell them. Except for cash, trophies and medals are also awarded.
Trophies and medals from past events
The LAN party is certainly not an unfamiliar one especially when it comes to professional Starcraft players attending to it. In the past LanCraft has had various pro players present at their event to boost up the challenge.
WCG silver medalist FiSheYe, attended the LAN in both 2004 and 2005. In 2006 ZpuX and Mireille from Sweden went to win the tour. This spring Kashu won and he was there with his Hungarian fellows Ace and Naibsuch. Legendary Polish protoss, Draco also attended LanCraft in the past and won the event three times.

Dota had SGC taking the first place this spring and in 2008 summer the Polish team PGS won. It is said that a few pro players already confirmed their attendance. Polish Terran player Tarson, has been said to be participating in their Starcraft tournament and the Polish Dota team now known as UCP.MP3store (formerly known as PGS) have also confirmed that they will be attending since the announcement of their new sponsor. So players attending can surely expect a challenge.
