Belarus too, wants in. This new WCG nation will be sending one Zerg player, LoWeLy[PnD], to WCG Final 2005 in Singapore. We wish him the best of luck.
This year a lot of new countries have been added to WCG roster. One of them is an eastern European country known mostly for its » tractors, » TVs, » trucks, » buses, » gigantic dump trucks, and being, as an American atlas put it, "The last dictatorship in Europe"- the Republic of Belarus.
But to us, Broodwar gamers it is probably more known for LoWeLy[PnD]'s successful performance in BKC Tours, also the surprising fight its national team managed to put up in ClanBase some time ago, and B7C just recently.
The preliminary consisted of two stages, both set in the capital of Belarus, Minsk. First one gathered more then 50 players from the farthest corners of the country who battled it out for the right to compete in the finals. Eight players fought their way throught the brackets:
Four Zergs: LoWeLy[PnD], DuKe[PnD], GoldenZerg.hz, SR.X_MARINa
Three Terrans: Jackal, atl.Exact_FvT, taran2l.SaShok
And one Protoss: nyXapb.by
Last weekend the final stage was played out and it did not bring us any upsets. As was expected the iron zerg LoWeLy came out on top, not losing a single game in the whole tournament.
Final standings

2- Jackal - 17'CRT Monitor from Samsung
