Umamusume to release new trainees Zenno Rob Roy and Hokko Tarumae in October
Zenno Rob Roy
Banner duration: 6AM 8 October–5:59AM 16 October SGT
Zenno Rob Roy specialises as a Pace Chaser for Medium and Long races on Turf. Her unique skill increases her velocity when positioned toward the front late-race with 400m remaining, with the effect being boosted if she's running in a G1 or similarly major race as a favourite. The gold skills ‘Race Planner’ and ‘Refraction Arc’ are among the skills she can innately learn.
In real life, Zenno Rob Roy was a stallion that ran from 2003 to 2005 and won seven races, three of which were G1 races. The three G1 races he won were the Autumn Tenno Sho, the Japan Cup, and the Arima Kinen–all in 2004. That notably made Zenno Rob Roy only the second horse in Japanese horse racing history to win the Senior Autumn Triple Crown after T.M. Opera O.
Hokko Tarumae
Banner duration: 6AM 25 October–5:59AM 7 November SGT
Hokko Tarumae specialises as a Pace Chaser for Mile and Medium races on Dirt. Her unique skill increases her acceleration when well-positioned in the last spurt after engaging in a challenge on a mid-race corner. The gold skills ‘Calm and Collected’ and ‘Trending in the Charts!’ are among the skills she can innately learn.
In real life, Hokko Tarumae was a stallion that ran from 2012 to 2016 and is one of the greatest Dirt runners in Japanese horse racing history. Out of 39 starts, he won 17 races, 10 of which were G1 or equivalent races. Hokko Tarumae notably won the Japan Dirt Cup and the Champions Cup twice, the Tokyo Daishoten and Dubai World Cup three times, and the February Stakes once.
New alternate versions for Narita Brian, Kitasan Black, and Satono Diamond
BLAZE Narita Brian
Banner duration: 6AM 15 October–5:59AM 24 October SGT
Narita Brian's first alternate version will see her specialise as a Pace Chaser in Medium and Long races on Turf, though she can also be flexed to Mile races thanks to her ‘B’ Aptitude for that distance.
Her unique skill increases her velocity when in the front part of the pack on the latter half of the final corner late-race. The effect is also boosted if she is running in a Long race and engaged in a challenge mid-race. The gold skills ‘Hot Pursuit’ and ‘Beast Mode’ are among the skills she can innately learn.
New Year Kitasan Black
Banner duration: 6AM 20 October–5:59AM 2 November SGT
Kitasan Black's first alternate version, just like her original version, will see her specialise as a Front Runner in Medium and Long races on Turf. Her unique skill lets her surge ahead for a moderate duration and very slightly increase acceleration when positioned toward the front on a late-race corner far from the finish. The gold skills ‘Escape Artist’ and ‘Taking the Lead’ are among the skills she can innately learn.
New Year Satono Diamond
Banner duration: 6AM 20 October–5:59AM 2 November SGT
Satono Diamond's first alternate version, just like her original version, will see her specialise as a Late Surger in Long races on Turf. Her unique skill increases her velocity and moderately recovers stamina when she is positioned midpack around halfway through the race. The gold skills ‘Claw Forward’ and ‘Stamina Siphon’ are among the skills she can innately learn.
