The final four will kick off PAX South with two semi-final games on Friday, followed by a 3rd place and Final played on Saturday.
After about two months of matches, Immortals, compLexity, Luminosity Gaming and Ghost - formerly known as Kungarna - will compete live at PAX South to decide who is the champion of the NGE Winter Premiere and claim the $40,000 first place prize.
The first match is scheduled to take place at noon CST with first-seeded Immortals taking on Luminosity while Ghost take on compLexity at 2:30 p.m. CST. The third-place match will be at noon the following day, while the first place match will take place immediately after that.
The schedule for Friday, January 27
- 12:00 p.m. CST - Semi-Finals #1: Immortals vs Luminosity Gaming
- 2:30 p.m. CST (approx.) - Semi-Finals #2: compLexity Gaming vs Ghost
The schedule for Saturday, January 28
- 12:00 p.m. CST - 3rd Place Match
- 2:30 p.m. CST (approx.) - Grand Final
Immortals was the top seed throughout both Group Play Phase 1 and Group Play Phase 2, but the team has hit a minor setback less than a day before the first semi-final match due to tank player David "Nomy" Ramirez being unable to secure a visa into the US, resulting in him not being able to participate in the LAN phase of the tournament. He will be replaced by Immortals coach Chance for the rest of the Winter Premiere.
While under the Kungarna banner, Ghost was solid all throughout both phases of Group Play, having been able to lock in their trip to the finals early on in the final day of Phase 2; compLexity also managed to come out strong from Phase 2 despite a rough start in Phase 1. It was Luminosity Gaming's spot that was in jeopardy for most of Phase 2, with Luminosity just barely able to take out Team Liquid for the final spot in the finals.
Ghost officially changed their name on January 26 when they were picked up by Ghost Gaming. No other details were disclosed at the time, other than that they will be playing under the Ghost banner for the live semi-final/final as well as all future tournaments.
The stage is set for an epic showdown between the four teams. First place gets $40,000, while second place gets $20,000 and third and fourth score $12,000 each.
