Varian's quick match categorization is causing headaches

Varian isn't classified as a Warrior under the new Quick Match system and it's resulting in some unfun experiences.

The changes were announced earlier this month but they seem to just now be making an impression on the community. The Quick Match changes were aimed at making games a more enjoyable experience by matching similar teams against one another. Stealth heroes limits, in particular, have so far been good changes to Quick Match that few people disagree with.

However, the Varian changes are causing some issues.

This isn't the only Varian complaint thread to show up and it won't be the last. Blizzard may be set on classifying Varian as a Bruiser, but it's clear to anyone who has played the game in its current patch that this isn't true. Taunt Varian (or any type of Varian that goes Shield Wall) is incredibly tanky and easily steamrolls another team without a Warrior of their own.

It is especially hard to play against if the enemy also has a Tassadar, who is no longer classified as a "Healer" support and thus can be paired against teams that also have no "Healer" role. The problem with this is Tassadar actually has incredibly potent supporting abilities. Even after his re-work, he is capable of supporting a Quick Match team.

This isn't the only game mode that players are venting their frustration with. Apparently,  an increasing amount of players (or at least the most vocal ones) have been reporting lopsided Hero League matches and frequent pub-stomps. Whether this is just new-season gripes or a growing problem is still yet to be known.
