The second NA Fall Regional Qualifier wrapped up Sunday and two more teams have qualified for the Burbank Regional.
Murloc Geniuses and Vox Nihili came out on top of the second NA qualifier to join the ranks in Burbank for a shot at making it to the Fall Championship at BlizzCon. Both teams dominated their brackets to qualify.
Vox Nihili rose through the amateur ranks after winning Heroes United and moved on to compete in the second NA regional. In their first series they stomped Misfit Mafia 2-0 to move on and face Team Blaze. Blaze is a well known team in the North American region but that meant nothing to Vox Nihili as they were able to clutch a 2-0 victory.
In the other round of matches, Murloc Geniuses gave a very strong showing. The team had disbanded earlier in 2016, but was recently revived in an attempt to compete among the top North American teams. They beat RFS Gaming 2-0 in their first series to move on and face Astral Authority. Astral has been a major contender in the NA scene recently, but they were no match for the newly formed Murloc Geniuses who took them down 2-0.
Vox Nihili and Murloc Geniuses are the fifth and sixth teams to qualify for the NA Burbank Regional. Naventic and Gale Force eSports were given an automatic qualification because they competed in the Summer Championship, and High Score and Crescendo qualified in the first regional. The third and final qualifier will take place on Sunday, July 24th where two final teams will make it to Burbank.
There's a prize pool of $100,000 on the line in Burbank and more importantly the top team will secure a spot at the Fall World Championship at BlizzCon.
