What is Warhammer Survivors?

Warhammer Survivor is a fast-paced 'Bullet Heaven' game built in the same engine as 2022 smash-hit indie Vampire Survivors, developed by Auroch Digital in partnership with Vampire Survivors developer poncle. Warhammer Survivors takes Vampire Survivors' frenetic roguelite survival gameplay and immerses players into the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000 and the high fantasy realms of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

Players will be able to choose their favoured setting to play in and take control of over 40 iconic playable characters from the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, including the protagonist of Auroch Digital's other Warhammer 40,000 game: Malum Caedo from Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. Some of the playable characters in Warhammer Survivors include:

  • Malum Caedo, stalwart Ultramarine Sternguard Veteran and Scourge of the Forges of Corruption in Boltgun.
  • The hardened Cadian Shock Trooper, Kozlowski.
  • The indomitable Space Marine Intercessor, Brother Luca.
  • Neave Blacktalon, living weapon of the God-King Sigmar.
  • The Stormcast Eternal Vanquisher, Sharynn Azurwath, master of the Celestial Greatblade.
  • The legendary Slayer, Gotrek Gurnisson, carving a path of red ruin through the Mortal Realms and seeking his doom.

Players will be able to fight in various stages based on locations from Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar like an abandoned Space Hulk, the plains of Aqshy, and more. There are even stages that hearken to the tabletop side of the Warhammer hobby. Each stage features unique enemy factions and secrets to uncover, so players will have plenty of reason to explore and replay stages.

While players will only be able to fully control one character in each playthrough, other characters will join them as ‘companions’ representing various weapons as they continue to progress through the game. An arsenal of over 75 weapons, from the formidable Chainsword to Orbital Bombardment, will be at the players' disposal. And in another reference to the Warhammer tabletop, players can also throw down buckets of dice and spill pots of Nuln Oil to help fend off enemy hordes.

Speaking of enemies, players will have to survive against the worst that the universes of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar have to offer, including the Tyranids, Orks, and the forces of Chaos. Each stage will also host powerful bosses like the Tyranid Norn Emissary or Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, with players required to bring specific weapons to defeat them.
