After an exciting day of matches with some surprising competition Team Dignitas wins DreamHack: Valencia.

Team Dignitas has come out on top of the first EU Fall Regional and have secured themselves a spot in the Fall Global Championship at BlizzCon along with $25,000 USD. The championship series against Fnatic was extremely close, but Dignitas pushed through to be crowned the winner.

Fnatic had a surprising showing Friday, especially in their series against the reining European champions, mYinsanity. Fnatic dominated mYi 3-0 in the first round of the playoffs to move on to the championship.

In the other semifinal round Dignitas played a very strong series and won 3-0 over Team Liquid. The championship is where things got a little crazy.

The championship series was back and forth through all five games. Dignitas came out strong to win the first game, but a sneaky Abathur pick on Sky Temple by Fnatic helped them come back in the second game. The series was tied 2-2 when Dignitas clutched a final victory on Infernal Shrines to move on to BlizzCon. Lunara saw play in all of the final three games, showing an increase in popularity from previous tournaments.

The second EU Fall Regional is happening at ESL Gamescom on August 18-21 in Cologne, Germany. The winner from the second regional will join Dignitas in Anaheim, California at BlizzCon to represent Europe amongst the best teams in the world. There's a $1,000,000 prize pool on the line at BlizzCon and a chance at proving to be the best Heroes of the Storm team in the world.
