Team Liquid and GoogleIshetZont qualify for IEM - Katowice with the help of the newly buffed terror of darkshire.
The EU Spring regionals have ended, proving that EU's recent love for Stitches was no fluke. Team Liquid is looking very strong with their new roster and have seemed to struck a clear understand of the current meta and how to best take advantage of it. They made their games look easy, especially during game three against Na'Vi on Tomb of the Spider Queen. Blame it on the new roster, or the Stitches, but Team Liquid is back.
The 2nd team to qualify is the Russian team, GoogleishetZont. GIZ is a new team with very little tournament exposure other than our Enter the Storm tournament series With this upset victory vs Fnatic during such important qualifiers, GIZ took full advantage of the spotlight, introducing us to a surprisingly solid team that has no problem winning during the draft phase.
Before they met Fnatic at the upper end of the bracket, they defeated The Sandwhich Monkey in yet another upset. Sandwhich beat GIZ prior to the Spring Regionals but, this time around, GIZ looked very different. Composed and determined, they made quick work of rivals.
Congratulations to both teams for qualifying Intel Extreme Masters- Katowice. From this tournament, two teams will emmerge to play in the Spring Championships hosted by Blizzard.
