The eSports powerhouse DreamHack brings out the big guns with $25,000 in tournaments!
Heroes of the Storm is ramping up in the esports community, and DreamHack is pulling out it's big guns. Following the success of DreamHack's PGL Spring Champions of the Storm with it's four invited EU teams won by Team Liquid, and DreamHack France taken down by Na'Vi, a new set of tournaments is ready to come into play.
Starting first with Dreamhack Summer at the Elmia Convention Center in Jönköping, Sweden, a $10,000 brawl between four European teams will take place. DreamHack found a way to honor their roots as a LAN party first, giving three of the four starting spots out to invited juggernauts of the European HotS scene, but reserving the last slot for a BYOC team. That approach of hosting tournaments with a BYOC portion is what made DreamHack into the outstanding and unique eSports event that it is – now it’s reaching Heroes of the Storm as their newest member. If you're ready to carry your rig all the way to Sweden, check out the sign up page here!
Only one month later is DreamHack Valencia, pitting the top two teams from Dreamhack Summer against two more teams that have yet to be determined. The prize pool on this tournament has been raised to $15,000!
You can check out all the action streamed on the Twitch DreamHackHeroes channel on June 14th and 16th!
With these tournaments on the horizon, the future of competitive Heroes of the Storm looks bright. Not only is Blizzard putting in the work and support for the game, but bigger and established organizations in the eSports business like MLG, ESL and DreamHack are taking notice and put out these amazing tournaments.
