Blizzard also revealed Eclipse, the final chapter of World of Warcraft's current expansion Midnight.
Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the next expansion of its long-running MMORPG World of Warcraft (WoW) will be titled ‘The Last Titan’ and will serve as the final act of the Worldsoul Saga. The expansion is said to put “the war back in Warcraft.”
Blizzard revealed The Last Titan with a teaser trailer during BlizzCon 2026's opening ceremony, announcing the expansion is scheduled to release sometime in 2027 but not much else. WoW game director Ion Hazzikostas notably apologised for the lack of details about the game's next expansion, but did reveal that Eclipse (more on that later) would lead into a revelation that will pave the way for the climax of 20 years of WoW in The Last Titan.
The Last Titan's teaser trailer briefly shows the Wyrmrest Temple in Northrend, with a colossal being stomping into view before unleashing a massive laser-like attack. One can venture a guess that this would be the titular Last Titan. According to Hazzikostas, Blizzard is planning to reveal more about WoW's next expansion early next year.
World of Warcraft reveals Eclipse, the finale of its current expansion Midnight
Aside from revealing The Last Titan, Blizzard also announced Eclipse will be the final chapter of WoW's current expansion, Midnight. In the trailer, the void harbinger Xal’atath (who is notably set to become Heroes of the Storm's first new hero in six years) opens the gate leading to Azeroth's Worldsoul. With Xal'atath's plans for the Worldsoul nearing fruition, players can expect a confrontation with her in Midnight.
Eclipse is scheduled to release in early 2027.
