Dragon’s Dogma 2 will discontinue its Deluxe Edition and most microtransactions starting 25 June.
Capcom has announced major commercial changes for Dragon's Dogma 2, confirming that it will discontinue the Deluxe Edition and several microtransactions on 25 June.
The publisher will also implement a permanent price cut for the base game from the same date, although the new discounted price has yet to be disclosed.
The changes come ahead of the release of the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, which was announced during last week's Nintendo Direct. The expansion is set to introduce a new region, dungeons, and more when it launches on 26 October.

Why is Dragon's Dogma 2 removing the Deluxe Edition and microtransactions?
The developers of Dragon's Dogma 2 are removing the Deluxe Edition and many of the game's controversial microtransactions in preparation for the release of the Dark Arisen expansion.
The game developer posted:
"Thank you so much for supporting Dragon's Dogma 2 over the years. Due to the development of additional content and various adjustments for the upcoming title update, the following products will no longer be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam as of 25 June."
The move effectively provides a clean path ahead of the highly-anticipated Dark Arisen expansion, which is being positioned as a more complete version of the game. The expansion will introduce the frozen northern region of Norgan, twelve new dungeon challenges through Lost Rites, as well as a host of new enemies, weapons, and other additions.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam as downloadable content, while Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a standalone version that includes both the base game and the expansion.
