Gundam fans have a new battlefield to look forward to. Revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026, Gundam Rogue Orbit is a new action game from Bandai Namco that will let players pilot mobile suits in a brand-new Gundam timeline when it launches in 2027.
Bandai Namco also posted on X formerly Twitter about the game's release. “Suit up for humanity. Pilot your mobile suit and fight for survival in 2027,” the caption said.

Bandai Namco said Gundam Rogue Orbit takes place in a brand-new timeline within the Gundam saga. According to a press release reported by IGN, the game follows humanity's fight for survival against an unknown threat while aiming to appeal to both longtime Gundam fans and newcomers and “introduces a brand-new timeline in the Gundam saga, where humanity must fight for survival against an unknown threat.”
Who is RE-X in Gundam Rogue Orbit?
The game's story centres on RE-X, an ace pilot who serves as the protagonist of this new Gundam chapter. Players will take control of Gundam Helix, RE-X's high-mobility mobile suit, and fight alongside a crew of soldiers as they face an unknown enemy threatening humanity's survival.
What gameplay can players expect in Gundam Rogue Orbit?
Bandai Namco said the game will feature fast-paced battles across large environments. Players will battle enemy hordes, take on massive bosses, and overcome increasingly difficult encounters throughout the adventure. The publisher also said the game will combine large-scale action with a sci-fi setting while continuing to deliver the emotional moments and action sequences that the Gundam series is known for.
