Ubisoft targets new Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon games before March 2029

There was no mention of Beyond Good and Evil 2 or the Splinter Cell remake in the update

Ubisoft has laid out plans for its biggest franchises over the next few financial years, with new Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon games all expected to arrive before the end of March 2029. The update came as part of its latest financial report for FY2025 to 2026, alongside comments on its wider release pipeline, cancelled projects, and delays.

Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe targets a 2027 launch window

Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe will be part of its upcoming slate, with the witchcraft-themed entry expected to launch sometime in 2027. The game sits within a broader strategy to deliver a “significantly stronger and diversified content pipeline” across the 2027-28 and 2028-29 financial years.

Is Ubisoft making a new Far Cry game?

Far Cry was also confirmed to return, with new entries as part of Ubisoft’s long-term release plans. The franchise has not seen a new instalment since Far Cry 6 released in 2021, making it one of the publisher’s longer-running gaps between mainline titles. Ubisoft’s financial update confirmed that the series remains part of its major franchise roadmap going forward.

Ghost Recon returns to Ubisoft’s long-term plans

Ghost Recon is also included in Ubisoft’s upcoming pipeline, marking its return to the publisher’s long-term plans. The most recent mainline entry in the series was 2019’s Breakpoint.

When is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced releasing?

Ubisoft’s next major release is Black Flag Resynced, which is scheduled to launch on 9 July. The publisher said the game’s reveal “generated strong engagement across the Assassin’s Creed community, with players praising the game’s modernized presentation and expanded gameplay features while recognizing its faithfulness to the original experience. Early pre-order momentum has been particularly strong, notably in China, ranking among the franchise’s best performances over the first three weeks.”

Alongside its release plans, Ubisoft confirmed that it had cancelled seven projects over the past year and delayed six others. The company also discussed its broader performance, including live service titles such as Rainbow Six Siege, The Division 2, The Crew Motorfest, and For Honor. There was no mention of Beyond Good and Evil 2 or the Splinter Cell remake in the update.

Ubisoft also reported that around 1,200 employees have left the business, with total headcount standing at 16,590 at the end of March 2026. The company noted it has €1.16 billion (approximately US$1.35 billion) in cash from Tencent, as it continues efforts to stabilise its operations. Ubisoft’s latest financial update sits alongside broader changes as it continues shaping its long-term release plans.
