What is Splatoon Raiders?
Splatoon Raiders is Nintendo’s singleplayer-focused spin-off of the Splatoon franchise, allowing players to take on the role of a mechanic journeying across the mysterious Spirhalite Islands while on a high-stakes adventure. This mechanic can either be an Octoling or an Inkling.
Players will be able to customise the appearance of their mechanic, along with the specific loadout they’d like to bring into battle. They’ll also be able to use various mechanical gadgets and ink weapons as they go up against the Salmonids enemies, and conquer raids to salvage even more loot.
The player will also be joined by a cast of colourful characters in Splatoon Raiders: Frye, Shiver, and Big Man, all of whom are members of the musical band Deep Cut. One of them will also raid alongside the player in a powerful bot, aiding them in battle. Frye, Shiver, and Big Man are also getting redesigned specifically for this entry, and will be featured in new upcoming Amiibo figures.
Splatoon Raiders also supports co-op multiplayer with up to three other players online, though this week’s new trailer mostly focused on its singleplayer content. It’s likely that we’ll learn about the game’s multiplayer content in the months leading up to its full release.
Splatoon Raiders will launch on 23 July, 2026. It will cost US$50 for a digital copy, or US$60 for a physical copy.
