Flat-pack furniture meets the Pokémon's island life, and somehow it fits right in.
Players diving into Pokémon Pokopia have a new collaboration on the horizon, as IKEA teams up with the life sim for a crossover event announced ahead of its 1 April launch in Japan in the official IKEA website. The promotion spans both real-world IKEA stores and an in-game island, bringing themed experiences to players from tomorrow onwards.

Pokémon Pokopia x IKEA collaboration arrives in Japan stores from 1 April
IKEA Japan will be hosting a series of themed activations across participating IKEA locations in the country. These real-world tie-ins include stamp rallies, themed stickers, and even special menu items inspired by Pokopia’s cosy, design-focused gameplay.
The collaboration leans into the shared appeal between Pokopia’s customisable interiors and IKEA’s minimalist furniture style. Players who enjoy arranging homes for their Pokémon will likely recognise the influence, with clean layouts and practical design mirroring the retailer’s signature look.
“IKEA Island” opens in-game in Pokémon Pokopia for a limited time
Alongside the physical event, players can visit a dedicated “IKEA Island” within Pokopia. The in-game destination becomes available from 1 April, with the island address revealed on the same day.
A preview of the island shows themed builds inspired by fan-favourite Pokémon such as Pikachu and Snorlax. While the collaboration does not introduce entirely new furniture items, the island is designed to showcase creative layouts and offer inspiration for players looking to upgrade their own spaces.

According to the promotional material, the island was “created by IKEA employees”, suggesting a direct involvement from the retailer’s design teams. The event will run until 23:59 on 30 June, giving players a limited window to explore the space.
The IKEA crossover arrives as the Pokopia community continues to experiment with increasingly complex builds. Some players have already showcased advanced creations, including a functioning in-game calculator, while others have drawn on Pokémon lore for inspiration.
One example includes fans recreating the long-running myth of Mew hidden under a truck, adapting it into Pokopia’s sandbox-style environment.
These player-driven designs highlight the flexibility of the game’s systems, which allow for both decorative and functional builds beyond simple home customisation.

Pokémon Pokopia has seen a strong start since launch, with Nintendo confirming that the title has surpassed 2.2 million copies sold. As a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, the game has quickly become one of the platform’s standout releases.
The collaboration runs until 30 June, giving players a limited window to visit the IKEA Island and check out the themed builds for themselves.
