Link and Zelda are embarking on a widescreen adventure.
During this week’s The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, Nintendo revealed more details for the upcoming movie adaptation for The Legend of Zelda. While a new trailer wasn't shown, the company did tease that the movie would feature an original story and won't adapt any one specific Zelda game.
The movie's title has also been confirmed: The Legend of Zelda.

This week’s Nintendo Direct focused on celebrating 40 years of The Legend of Zelda franchise pivoted away from the games to spotlight an upcoming big-screen movie adaptation: The Legend of Zelda. The movie is set to hit theatres in 2027, and is being helmed by director Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes).
In a brief segment during the livestream, the movie's title was confirmed. It was also confirmed that the movie would feature an original story based on the “many stories, ideas, and concepts of the series built up over 40 years.” Hence, don't expect a Breath of the Wild game adaptation. The Triforce was also revealed to play a major role in the movie.
