The official Star Wars: Galactic Racer gameplay trailer has arrived, offering a first look at the high-speed podracing action coming later this year.
You can never run out of the galactic adrenaline. During the annual PlayStation State of Play earlier today, Fuse Games dropped a fresh gameplay trailer for Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
First announced during The Game Awards last December, we finally have a closer look at the game's vibrant podracing concept. The trailer showcased familiar vehicles and maps, with exciting appearances from Sebulba and Ben Quadinaros–popular podracers from the prequel trilogy.
Fuse Games and publisher Secret Mode, also revealed that the game would drop sometime this year, though no specific date is outlined. Those eager to play can start wishlisting the product on various platforms including PlayStation 5, Windows via Steam and Xbox Series X/S.
What to expect from Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Star Wars: Galactic Racer simply takes the classic arcade racing experience into the sci-fi Star Wars universe. Players are set to compete in The Galactic League, an underground circuit located in the dangerous Outer Rim.
Set within the New Republic Era, a timeline after the third original trilogy (Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi), this podracing game will have maps across multiple planets, including the all-too familiar Jakku.
The game listing on Steam also teases various vehicle classes with their own unique physics, vehicle building concept, and a ranking system for multiplayer mode.
Reminiscent of classic Star Wars racing games, like the 2001 Super Bombad Racing and the OG 1999 Episode I Racer, long-time fans can expect to experience a fully modernised feel of speeding in a galaxy far, far away.
