Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2 announced for August 2026

Konami is bringing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots among others from the franchise to the upcoming MGS Master Collection Volume 2.

More Metal Gear Solid classics are coming to modern systems with the launch of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2, revealed during PlayStation’s 2026 State of Play earlier today.

The Volume 2 bundle includes MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, the HD remaster of 2010’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and 2000’s Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. Right away, fans noticed the smaller selection of games compared to Volume 1–released in 2023–which included eight different versions of MGS titles, ending with 2004’s Snake Eater.

However, the biggest selling point of MGS Master Collection Volume 2 will be the remastered version of MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, as the game finally becomes available on modern platforms after being a PS3 exclusive since its 2008 launch.

Starting on 27 August, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will be available on major platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

What’s in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2?

The star of the bundle–2008’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is now available across various systems, after being exclusively hosted on the PS3 for nearly two decades.

The game’s remastered launch now also means players of the Metal Gear franchise will finally get to revisit the final chapter of MGS4 on modern platforms, with improvements in resolution, maximum frame rate, and the addition of customisable controls.

Volume 2 also adds the HD remaster of the 2010 Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker–one of the more notable MGS spin-offs released on the handheld PSP. In this Master Collection, Peace Walker boasts additional control customisation.

Metal Gear: Ghost Babel is the third and final edition in this collection, one of the earliest entries in the iconic franchise. Released for Game Boy Color in 2000, this remastered version now lets you experience additional features to the game like screen filters, pixel-perfect, screen settings, rewind function, and control customisation.

By getting your hands on this second edition of the Master Collection, you can also access its Vol. 2 Digital Soundtrack, which features a host of iconic tracks during Snake’s missions, from BGM to vocal songs.
