Biggest winners of week 3 of DPC 2021-22 season winter tour

The third week has come to an end for the DPC 2021-22 season winter tour and we look at the big wins for teams.

At the halfway mark of the DPC 2021-22 season winter tour some teams secured pretty big, and much-needed wins around the globe.

In SEA, BOOM Esports won both of their series this week. They delivered clean 2-0 sweeps in their first four matches, taking down thus far Fnatic, OB.Neon, Team SMG and Motivate.Trust Gaming. This gives them a sizeable lead and pretty much assures them a shot at attending the first Major. With the holidays, the team will return to action on the 8th of January, when they will be pitted against TNC Predator.

In Europe, Nigma Galaxy saw the return of Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi. Although they did lose their first series against OG, they were able to take their first win of the DPC season off of Team Secret with a 2:0 sweep. The team has been in dire straights, losing their first three series without a single win. Not only does this victory give the team a bit of a relief, but it also serves to at least stave off Division II regulation at least a bit longer -- at least until they play against Alliance where one of them will end up heading into the lower division. Their series against Team Secret marked the last official match for Nigma for 2021 and fans can only hope that ending the year with a big win will mark positive things coming after the new year.

Arkosh Gaming won their last series 2:1 vs BNY just this week. It was their first series win of the season and could certainly serve as a morale boost. It also keeps Division II relegation at bay for now. The NA team is tied for 6th place in the 1st division with a 1:3 series/2:7 game record. Their next series will be January, 6th at 0:00 CET against simply TOOBASED.

Winter Tour 2021

  • Regional Leagues total DPC points: 690
  • Major total DPC points: 1,900

Division I

Those who start the new DPC year from Division I will be fighting for a spot at the first Major of the new competitive year, and a share of the 690 DPC points and $205,000. Only the top five teams from Division I will earn DPC points. The sixth-placed team will get to keep its spot in the league, while those finishing in the 7th/8th place will be relegated into Division II for the next Tour.

Division II

Division II has a total prize pool of $75,000 and no DPC points to offer, but those placing top two at the end of the Winter Tour will promote into Division I for the next Tour. The prize pool will be split between the top 6 teams, while the bottom two will be eliminated from the regional league and will have to go through open qualifiers for the next Tour.
