Zai joins Team Liquid

Merely hours after news broke of Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg's departure from Team Secret, Team Liquid bid his welcome to the team.

The post TI10 tier 1 shuffle started with a bang and the announcement of Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg taking leave from Team Secret. But his news didn't end there.

Just a few hours later, Team Liquid announced that the famed Swedish player would be competing for the upcoming DPC season under their banner.

At this point, there is no official word on which player(s) are out of the team and what/if any role changes will be made.

Team Liquid had a tumultuous year in the DPC 2020-21 season.

The team took fourth in the first season of the league and landed a place in the wild cards for ONE Esports Singapore Major. They squeaked past the stage after a tie-breaker series and advanced to the group stage where they ended up with a lower bracket seed for the playoffs. It was in their first-round that they were sent packing with a 2:0 loss.

Then Samuel "Boxi" Svahn announced that he would be stepping away from competitive play temporarily due to some private matters and Syed "SumaiL" Hassan stepped into his place.

The team qualified for the AniMajor after taking 2nd place seed in season 2 of the league but failed to advance through the group stage. Their results meant that they did not earn a direct invite to TI10 and had to prepare for the TI10 qualifiers.

Boxi rejoined the team for the qualifiers but they failed to take the only remaining European spot for the big event.
