Invictus Gaming reports that JT- has now tested positive for COVID as the TI10 group stage gets ready to commence in one week.
On the heels of three players, along with five staff members, testing positive in Bucharest, Romania for COVID, Invictus Gaming is now reporting a positive test for at least one player.
Sadly, this comes just after Malaysian player Thiay "JT-" Jun- tested negative in the first round of contact testing — a situation that makes fans and players alike wonder who else might be in the same situation.
Yesterday, Team Aster players Du "Monet" Peng, Lin "Xxs" Jing, and Ye "Borax" Zhibiao along with their team leader and their assistant coach, Cheng "Mad" Han have tested positive for coronavirus. Additionally, their video crew staff have also tested positive.
Elephant is expected to be testing today.
The official bubble for the event is set to begin on the 3rd of October in the TI10 hotel, However, the majority of the teams arrived in Bucharest weeks earlier for bootcamps. The Chinese teams have grouped at the Athenee Palace Hilton hotel, an option that was offered to (with an additional payment) and coordinated by PGL themselves.
China has five teams - PSG.LGD, iG, Vici Gaming, Team Aster, and Elephant representing the country at TI10. The group stage is set to begin in one week, on October 7th.
So far there is no word from PGL or Valve as to what will happen for the teams affected.
The International 10
The International 10 is now expected to take place in October with the group stage matches unfolding October 7 - 10, the playoffs set to kick off on the 12th of the month, and the grand finals scheduled for October 17.
The final total for the TI10 prize pool has clocked in at $40,018,195 when the crowdfunding and Battle Pass purchases ended this past weekend. That is a 2401.14% increase from the original base amount of $1.6 million.
It will be held at the National Arena from Bucharest, Romania —the largest stadium in the capital city, with a capacity of 55,000 seats. TI10 will be held with a live audience as a fully masked, fully vaccinated event.
