Three more teams were eliminated at DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major as the trophy and title wait just around the corner.
It passes so quickly sometimes and after almost a full week already, the end is approaching for DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major. There are only five teams left competing after beastcoast, TNC Predator and Invictus Gaming were knocked out of contention in the lower brackets.
beastcoast continue to be formidable opponents and although iG dropped them with a clean 2:0 sweep, the SA team really put up a valiant fight and provided top rate competition. Outdrafted and ultimately outlasted by iG, beastcoast were still able to take the fans and players on a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, twists and turns throughout the series.
iG's triumph was short-lived, unfortunately. They were knocked out of the event by Evil Geniuses 2:1 in the next round. Flanked by two overpowering and dominant games by EG, iG's sole win was the only time the Chinese team looked like they were on the same level as EG in the whole series.
TNC Predator struggled much more than fans expected at the Major. After their dynamic performance and win at MDL Chengdu Major, fans had higher expectations of the SEA team. They faltered in the group stage and ended up in the lower brackets. In two regional affairs back-to-back, TNC survived the brutal best-of-one elimination series against Reality Rift and then knocked out Fnatic in the following series. But their success seemed to be limited to outshining their regional peers as when it was time for them to face off against Europe, the team was unable to pull off the victory.
Team Liquid's fast pace in the first game was too much for TNC to keep up with and in 27 minutes the match was over, giving Liquid the one-game lead. The SEA team came back in the second game with a meticulous performance to tie up the series, but it wouldn't be enough as the third game showcased some incredible plays and crucial black-holes from Tommy "Taiga" Le's Enigma.
The action resumes on Saturday, January 25th at 10:30 CET with more lower bracket elimination series.
