ESL One Genting 2018 extended the seventh invite to the Chinese team Vici Gaming.

Currently seventh in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings, Vici Gaming will be at their fifth Minor appearance with ESL One Genting 2018. They kicked off the season with SL i-League Invitational Season 3 Minor, however, they didn’t make it to the top four at the first-ever Dota Minor, therefore, they didn’t grab any points from that tournament. A month after the start of the season, VG bounced back hard and reached the grand finals of AMD SAPPHIRE DotaPit, but lost it to Team Liquid. Nonetheless, they secured 90 points per player from their second place in Croatia. They finished second at the Perfect World Masters Minor as well, that time around dropping in the grand finals to Newbee.

Before going to ESL One Genting 2018, Vici Gaming will be playing in the Captain’s Draft 4.0 Minor as well, event for which they qualified ahead of Newbee, LFY and their sister team VGJ Thunder. As a matter of fact, Vici Gaming haven’t been directly invited to any of the starting season’s events, ESL One Genting 2018 marking their first Dota Pro Circuit direct invite.

ESL One Genting 2018 happens to be the biggest Minor of the Circuit, which makes the direct invite even more precious for VG. The event has to offer $400,000 in prize money but more importantly, a total of 400 qualifying points, as opposed to the 300 points that all the other Minors have to offer this season. However, the prize pool and the qualifying points distribution hasn’t been announced yet. ESL One Genting 2018 will take place in the first month of 2018, January 23-28 at the Arena of Stars in Genting’s Highlands Resort. Sixteen teams - nine directly invited and seven qualified from around the globe will take part in the biggest Minor of the Dota Pro Circuit.
