They will be replaced by Movistar Riders in the group stages.
With less than 12 hours to the start of IEM Katowice, a team had to make the painful announcement of withdrawal from the competition. Complexity from NA will be withdrawing from IEM Katowice as the team confirmed multiple positive COVID infections among the players. They will instead be replaced by Movistar Riders in the group stages.
The team, helmed by Johnny “JT” Theodosiou, was set to play in the tournament to try and grab a seat at the playoffs. The team heading into IEM Katowice is a brand new one, with the organisation just completed a new roster announcement last month.
The event would have been the first big LAN for many of the new players, but alas the pandemic struck the team and they had to let go of their seat in the competition.
Based on the ESL Pro Tour standings, Movistar Riders was offered the invitation to participate in IEM Katowice, and the team accepted the invitation. They will be facing off BIG in their opening match later today.
