BLAST Premier Open Singapore announced for March 2027

BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027 will be the third top-tier Counter-Strike 2 tournament to be hosted in the island.

Denmark-based esports event organiser BLAST announced on Friday (10 April) that they will be hosting the BLAST Premier Open 2027 Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament in Singapore next March. BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027 will feature 16 teams battling it out for their cut of a US$1.25 million prize pool, from 15 to 28 March, 2027.

BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027 will be the third event hosted by BLAST in the country, following the CS2 BLAST Premier World Final 2024 and Dota 2 BLAST Slam IV Singapore 2025. It will also be the third top-tier CS2 tournament to be hosted in the country after the aforementioned BLAST Premier World Final 2024 and the upcoming PGL Major Singapore 2026 in November this year.

Unlike previous iterations of BLAST Premier Open tournaments, which began in BLAST's Copenhagen studio before going on-location for the Playoffs, BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027 will take place solely in Singapore for its entire duration. The event will also feature a US$400,000 acceptance fee pool for the event, which is a new team incentive mechanic to be implemented by BLAST next year to encourage teams to compete in their events.

BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027 “represents the latest step in a long-term commitment to bring world-class esports and entertainment experiences to the region,” BLAST said in its announcement of the event.

“Singapore has already proven to be a standout destination on the global BLAST calendar. The sold-out BLAST Premier World Final 2024 marked BLAST’s debut in Southeast Asia and welcomed passionate fans from across the region and beyond, while BLAST Dota Slam Singapore 2025 further demonstrated the city’s ability to host premium esports arena events at scale.”

Which teams will be playing in BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027?

According to the BLAST Premier 2027 season handbook, BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027–as with all other BLAST Premier Open events for that year–will feature 16 participating teams. 12 teams will receive invites based on their position in the Valve Global Standings prior to the event, while the remaining four slots will be filled by winners of regional closed qualifiers.

What will be the tournament format for BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027?

BLAST Premier Open Singapore 2027 will be split into two phases: a six-day Group Stage followed by a three-day Playoffs.

The Group Stage will follow a double-elimination (GSL) format and will split the 16 teams into two groups of eight teams each. All matches in the Group Stage will be a best-of-three, with the Top 3 teams from each group advancing to the Playoffs. The winners of each group will earn a direct berth to the semifinals in the Playoffs, while the second and third-placed teams of each group will start in the quarterfinals.

The Playoffs will follow a single-elimination format where all matches are a best-of-three except for the grand finals, which will be a full best-of-five series.
