An unprecedented third-place decider matchup will run on the final day of PGL Major Singapore.
Tournament organiser PGL has announced that it will host the first-ever third-place decider matchup in Counter-Strike history, set to run on the final day of PGL Major Singapore right before the finale culmination. “This extra matchup adds more significance to the event’s closing day, giving teams one final chance to secure a podium finish and end their Major run on a high note,” PGL stated.
PGL Major Singapore is the next Valve Counter-Strike 2 Major, which will take place in Southeast Asia for the first time, with the event set to run in Singapore from 24 November to 13 December 2026.The PGL Major Singapore 2026 will feature 32 teams, maintaining the same team count as the BLAST.tv Austin Major last year, and will offer a prize pool of US$1.25 million. The final four days of the tournament, from Thursday, 10 December to Sunday, 13 December, will be open to a live audience at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
How PGL Major Singapore qualification works
In the announcement, the organiser also confirmed that all 32 team qualifications will be determined using the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), scheduled to be published on 2 November. The rankings will be open for public viewing, reflecting real-time race for teams vying for a spot in the Major.
Teams have until 6 November to register and submit all necessary details, including team name, logo, and registered substitutes. The Tournament Item Submission deadline is 9 November, by which all required in-game and event-related materials must be finalised.
