IEM Katowice 2017 - Participants determined

The team list for IEM Katowice has been determined as both European and North American qualifiers come to an end.

IEM Katowice will take place on 1-5 March with 12 attending teams. The tournament will offer $250,000 as the prize pool.

8 of the 12 participants of IEM Katowice 2017 were given invites. Teams from Europe and North America battled for the final four spots, three of which were reserved for the European qualifiers. First, Na'Vi and fnatic defeated Heroic and G2 respectively in the EU qualifier to become the first qualified teams, then Heroic faced G2 in the lower-bracket finals. The new G2 line-up that features likes of Kenny "KennyS" Schrub and Richard "shox" Papillon were unable to best their Danish-Swedish opponents as Casper "cadian" Møller's Heroic closed out the series 2-0 to secure their spot at Katowice.
