Luminosity wins MLG Columbus 2016
This tournament was a first in multiple ways; first ever North American major, first $1,000,000 prize pool, and most importantly for the Brazilians, the first time Luminosity Gaming claimed the first place title, taking it in a surprising 2-0 fashion from Natus Vincere in the grand finals in Columbus. Alibaba to host $5.5 million tournament
The leading Asian online retailer announced this week that they will be putting up an astounding $5.5 million dollars in prize money for their own premier esports tournament: the World Electronic Sports Games. Maikelele to leave FaZe
After a underwhelming performance at MLG Columbus, Mikail "Maikelele" Bill revealed this week that he will be leaving the team that he began under Kinguin in 2014. FaZe Clan went out in the group stage after defeats by Team Liquid and finally Fnatic in the lower bracket consolidation match.
zende signs for Torpedo
Torpedo Gaming announced this week that they have finally secured a fifth player to replace Mattias "malle" Lindberg, signing on Erik "zende" Sundeqvist after trialing him in several matchs earlier in March. The Swedish player has been seen playing for numerous top regional teams, including names such as FlipSid3 Tactics, Team Property, and Copenhagen Wolves.
