Call of Duty Mobile and Honkai Impact 3rd are crossing paths in a collaboration few players appeared to have seen coming, bringing together two games from Tencent and miHoYo for the first time.
The collaboration was announced on Friday, 7 August during a livestream, where the hosts unveiled the crossover on stage to cheers and shouts from the crowd.
Viewers watching online seemed considerably more confused. The livestream comments quickly filled with question marks, with some wondering whether the collaboration was actually real or if they were dreaming after the promotional trailer was shown.

Tencent's official Call of Duty Mobile Bilibili account also shared a poster for the collaboration, and while it stops short of showing the featured characters' faces, Honkai Impact 3rd players probably won't have much trouble recognising them.
The three silhouettes appear to be Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zaychik, specifically drawing from their Herrscher of Flamescion, Herrscher of Thunder, and Herrscher of Reason forms.
It's a fitting trio to represent Honkai Impact 3rd. Kiana, Mei, and Bronya are the original game's central protagonists, beginning their story as Valkyries connected to St. Freya Academy before each eventually wielding Herrscher powers of their own.
Kiana's journey takes her from a reckless young Valkyrie to the Herrscher of Flamescion, wielding a blazing greatsword before later ascending as the Herrscher of Finality. Mei becomes the Herrscher of Thunder, fighting with her katana and overwhelming lightning powers, while Bronya inherits the Core of Reason and gains the ability to recreate human technology, including everything from heavy weaponry to her armed motorcycle.
All three have since moved into very different roles as Honkai Impact 3rd continues through its Part 2 storyline. Kiana remains on the moon while monitoring the solar system and gradually synchronising with Earth, Mei has become a commanding officer mentoring a new generation of Valkyries, and Bronya balances her work as a game executive producer with her continuing high-tech support duties for Schicksal.
As strange as the crossover itself might seem, there's another first here. Call of Duty Mobile marks the first time Tencent and miHoYo have teamed up for a game collaboration. The bigger question now is how Kiana, Mei, and Bronya will actually fit into Call of Duty Mobile.
