The Woongjin Zerg prevailed over CJ Sora 3-1, inherited the WCG throne from PartinG and took home $30,000.
This is the second championship of Soulkey's career after he reigned in WCS Korea Season 1 in June. Since then, the Woongjin ace has been in a pursuit for another gold medal but failed to get it a couple of times, placing top four in WCS Season 1 finals and WCS KR Season 3 and second at the Season 3 finals.
Initially, Soulkey finished fourth in the WCG Korean qualifiers and only made it to the main event after Innovation (who finished third in the same tournament) forfeited his attendance to travel to DreamHack Winter. Once on Chinese ground, Soulkey had a strong showing, placing first in his group, 3-0'ing SEn in the quarter finals and beating Jim in a hard-fought five-game semi final.
These victories paired him with CJ's Sora who had defeated Ian and Parting in the playoffs. The Protoss took game one for an early lead but Soulkey turned it around with ease, scoring three in a row and landing at a victorious 3-1 that awarded him the championship.
