Returning to Helsinki, Finland on August 1-4th, the first ASUS ROG tournament for the year plans to gather 32 players and offer them a $25,000 prize pool. The first eight invites have already been announced.
Although its future was unclear around the time the SC2 tournament at Assembly Winter was canceled, a summer event was after all confirmed at the end of May, stating a return to the Hartwall Arena in the Finnish capital. The announcement talked about the tournament being streamed in free HD and cast by Khaldor and ex-EG pro player Idra, who were to follow the journey of the 32 player to the $10,000 first place prize.
Eight of those 32 are to be determined through the two online qualifiers on July 4-5 while the remaining 24 will receive a direct invite into the tournament. Today, we get to see the first third of those players.
