Jaedong is now able to reach the only title he is lacking: The World Cyber Games champion. Defeating Stork in the grand final, he wins the Korean qualifier.

OnGameNet StarLeague. MBCGame StarLeague. ProLeague. GomTV Intel Classic. Lee Jaedong has won all these four majors, and he is on the road of reaching yet another title. Koreans are pre-hand favorites in the World Cyber Games Grand Final, and who else but the winner of the hardest qualifier is considered running for the top spot?

Jaedong was already qualified for Cologne before the grand finals as he defeated Luxury in the semi final with a clean 2-0 sweep. But on late Sunday the 17th of August, the grand final was played. Jaedong went head to head with Stork, just like in the 2007 OnGameNet StarLeague final. And history repeated itself as Jaedong defeated the World Cyber Games champion with an impressive score of 2-0.

Stork will go to Cologne as the Korean runner-up, just like last year. Joining Jaedong and Stork on the flight to Cologne later in October is the Zerg player Luxury. Luxury was able to defeat Much in the very important bronze final after a close 2-1 win, and will now be remembered by the international fans as one of the World Cyber Games participants.

Final standings

1. Jaedong
2. Stork
3. Luxury
4. Much
