GosuGamers received an open letter and an official statement from LoNiC, head administrator of the ESL StarCraft Clan League, also known as SCCL. We post it below, unformatted.
In the issue x6AMD vs 3D, x6AMD.Ozmita claims that 3D agreed on postponing Alfas 1v1. Black, the leader of 3D, is 100% sure that he said "if my player agrees on postponing it then I agree too" and nothing else. As already mentioned in the comments the SCCL do not enforce additional agreements in general. Especially when there are neither screens nor other evidences, we can't reconstruct what is right and thus it actually doesn't matter who is right and who lies. x6AMD was lacking players in the clanwar and the organization was just as bad. According to this they didn't put a wildcard for Alfa and the opponent of x6AMD.Alfa, namely 3D.Creative, hasn't had an opponent 40 minutes after the match has officially started. I decided for freewin.
But lets have a closer view on x6AMD:
In fact x6AMD has had a lot of problems to show up with a complete team all the time. Both of the new recruitments, the koreans H.O.T. and Clon, are not allowed by their managers to play SCCL and the traditional x6AMD players are kinda inactive or maybe better saying not able to attend at SCCL frequently. I am pretty sure that x6AMD jumped at the chance and took the opportunity to leave SCCL with letting it appear that it is not by their own fault. x6AMD wouldn't have been able to complete SCCL in a regular and good mannered way anyway. They didn't want to go on with letting their clan managers play in lot of clanwars which actually is a shame for a sponsored team like them. They didn't see any chance to get in the upper half of the bracket anymore. So at the end the whole story is nothing else than the retirements of LG) and iD with different wrapping. Btw referring to the rules a clans that retires within a running SCCL series is not allowed to take part in the next SCCL series as well. Furthermore the SCCL will not replace retireing teams in season one anymore.
The answer of the question if an SCCL Teamcaptain should be an SCCL Admin at the same time is very simple: Of course not! But 3D.Black is a good supporter of SCCL. He is indispensable in Administrating certain things for SCCL. In the x6AMD vs 3D issue he hasn't had a decisive role and that is why it is totally wrong to start a discussion about him in this matter and at this point of time. You can not evaluate Blacks admin work with looking at the 3D vs x6AMD issue because he didn't act as an admin here but as a clan representative.
SCCL hasn't got enough staff members and we would like to see more people being interested in supporting the SCCL with their help in categories like coverage and Administrating. Sadly the most people that volunteer for the job only want do it for personal reasons and benefits. Also many people want to change the complete rule set and dont understand that administrating a league does stand for lot of other things, not only making the big decisions and showing power and strength. Administrating a leage means being there while the matches are played, understanding the rules and helping the clans to use them for their favour and in the right way. And last but not least doing all the little things that take so much time.
It is hard to get good reliable admins and coverage admins. I would like to pender to all those good people out there to support us. Many hands means less work for each hand and so on. Send applications at irc quake.net: #SCCL or via email: [email protected] to me. We are glad about everyone who can help doing things better and more comprehensive. Merry Christmas everybody!
GosuGamers hopes that this may make things clearer, and that SCCL might get the help it needs to serve as one of the biggest clanleagues in StarCraft.
