The Fortnitemares 2026 cinematic trailer has confirmed crossovers with many popular horror names.
Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, has dropped its official cinematic trailer, with the 47-second clip confirming several highly anticipated crossovers. These include the horror film hit Obsession, internet folklore icon Slender Man, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Fortnitemares 2026 confirms more collaborations
After numerous rumours and leaks, Fortnite and horror fans finally have confirmation of more crossovers from the cinematic trailer.
Slender Man, the tall, thin character from internet folklore, has been confirmed for an appearance in Fortnitemares. This has particularly surprised the community, as Slender Man has long been considered a complicated character to licence, due to how his mythology evolved through internet and community-created content.
Freddy Krueger, the villain from the iconic A Nightmare on Elm Street horror franchise, has also been confirmed. Beetlejuice, Lady Liberty from The Purge, and Black Clover’s Asta followed, and towards the end of the trailer, a tease for Obsession featuring the One Wish Willow is also shown.
Among these iconic horror franchises, Obsession is the newest release to make its way into Fortnitemares 2026. After exploding onto the cinema scene last year and grossing over US$520 million worldwide, it became one of the most requested crossovers for Fortnite, and Epic Games has now made it a reality.
Five Nights at Freddy’s, which also appeared in the trailer, was confirmed two days earlier in a separate announcement. The post amassed over 22 million impressions and more than 300,000 likes on X alone, making it Fortnite’s most popular collaboration post.

Fortnitemares launches tomorrow, Thursday, 1 October, making it the earliest the event has ever started in Fortnite. It is expected to run throughout the month, ending in late October.
