South Korea is the dominant force in StarCraft. They have the best players, the best coverage and the best leagues. Now they take on the rest of the world in a series of showmatches organized by WGTour.
Every player is not set yet, so there might still be a pleasant surprise or two. However, the players that are already confirmed are split into two teams. Korea vs the rest. Or actually it is Asia vs rest. PJ, although not confirmed, is rumored to play for the Asian team.

Both teams are subject to change, but all these players have confirmed. There may be additional players, as previously mentioned PJ. A player from each team will face off in a best out of 5 match. The plan is to have 3-4 showmatches a month. The winning players team will recieve one point after each match. The players from America and Europe should be well known for most of you. As should H_Paul_WII (picture), perhaps better known as oG)Paul to some. AranG is a former progamer. CuteBOy and Blaze represent some of the best korean clans in T.3 and NsP. Vitamin is a semi-pro gamer representing a clan with numerous progamers, Qoo). That leaves Siz)Kal and GGanDDa[Ete]. According to GosuGamers sources they are both progamers with a smurf nick. Kal is reportedly from the KOR team while GGanDDa is from Soul. Some of the Protoss players in KOR include ZeuS, terato and Oasis[alive]. The Soul team feature some of the following Zergs: SaSin)Child, CCoMa, KimWanChul and TheWind. Could it be any of these?
The first showmatch is probably happening this Friday (23rd of December) and it will feature ToT)Spawn( (picture), who goes up against the entertaining Zerg player H_Paul_WII.
The organizers and administrators behind this event are Dknight, InKline and T.3)CuteBOy. InKline has told GosuGamers that he will be doing shoutcasts in Polish, but is also hoping to get Micro-Lzuruha to do English casts and there is even a possibility for German casts.
The map pool consists of the maps in the table below. The classic map Lost Temple is included as well as some of the newer maps made for the Korean leagues.
Lost Temple Rush Hour Forte R-Point Luna |
There are still a few details to be worked out around this series, but it looks extremely promising. GosuGamers will of course keep you updated on the matches, the shoutcasts, the players and of course provide Gosubets whenever possible.
