Yesterday we covered the WCG qualification finals of China with Linyu)Pj beeing the winner and [S.Top]Phoenix66 beeing the runner-up. Recently the qualification groups of South Korea have been released and as many assumed before already those groups include an endless amount of high-class player.
If there is one nation beeing ahead of all other nations when it comes up to Broodwar it is South Korea without any doubt. An almost neverending amount of players who are on top of this game including the pro-gamers too who will fight for the spots of the upcoming World Cyber Games 2005 in Singapore. The maps in this qualification tournament were given and will be : R-Point, Requiem and Forte.
The rules for this tournament are quite simple, the person being ranked at #1 of each group after the games were played will advance to the next group stage, meaning the 12 players will advance and fight each other in the next group stage. 6 players will be left from the professional gamers qualification, facing the top four players of the amateur qualification and Xellos[yG] and Midas[gm], who are winner and runner-up of WCG 2004.
Those 12 players will be seeded into new groups and fight for the tickets to WCG Singapore, but the way to get one of these tickets is very arduous and long, especially if you have a look at the groups :
Group 1 :
| Group 2 :
| Group 3 :

Group 4 :
| Group 5 :
| Group 6 :
|
Group 7 :
| Group 8 :
| Group 9 :

A surely huge amount of professional gamers and all will fight for the three tickets to Singapore. Hopefully we will be able to see the replays or at least some of them of the final qualification. The group stage will be played on 16th of August from 10.00h to ~17.00h (Korean timezone). The finals will be held on 29th and 30th of August. Special thanks goes to Kim Min-Jin-Su for posting the groups in our forum.
